New Name

It's official I have changed my name to Time-Worn Interiors. I have been trying to think of a new name that describes my look now. I don't sell as much cottage or garden items as I used to. I have had that name for 10 years and I get bored with things around that 10 year mark. Not sure if I'll change my blog address or not.

We have been getting ready for Marburger show, we will leave for Texas on March 25th. Seems like the more we do the farther behind we get, and our weather here has been awful. Last weekend we had 12 inches of snow, this week it has rained 2 days and we are supposed to have rain all week next week, not sure when we will be able to load the truck.

If you get a chance to come to The Marburger Show, come see us in Tent H, booth 14. We will be happy to see you and even happier to sell you something! I hope to weather there is warm.

My Birthday!

Tomorrow Feb. 28 is my Birthday, wheeeeeee.........! The big 47! Just think, in three years I will be half of one hundred! That really sounds old! I don't feel 47, and I have no intention of slowing down any time soon! Believe me, I can tell a huge difference in what my body wants me to do and what my mind thinks I can do. As long as the Good Lord lets me keep my mind I will never give into old age!
Most of the time my husband is not much on gifting, but this year he has out done himself. I ask for a new drill, because mine smokes when I use it. I got that about 2 weeks ago. When he gets me something, he's like a kid that's so excited he can't wait until my Birthday to give it to me. That's OK, I'm just glad to get it! Today when he came home from work, he opted for a CD (Spring Time in Paris) instead of a Birthday Card! That's OK with me also, I love French music and I think cards are way over priced. So I'd say he did good this year, he gets an A+ for effort.
My Birthday dinner request is to have Ruben Sandwiches at my daughters house, she is going to Culinary Arts School to be a Chef and is very good at that! She makes the best Ruben I have ever put in my mouth. Because I love them so much my oldest daughter is getting me a panini maker, can't wait!
I am looking forward to celebrating my Birthday tomorrow!

New Assemblage

My favorite thing in the whole world ASSEMBLAGE! If I could not create displays and rearrange things, I think I would swivel up and lose my mind. Being creative is what keeps me sain!! I can have the worst day, but let me take a pile of junk and make it look pretty and I'm good to go! Assemblage is like therapy to me. I guess being creative is a gift, but it comes so natural for me. And I love looking at other peoples displays, it makes my heart beat real fast and I get so excited! In the past few years I have met some very talented people, Peg-French Vanilla, Theresa-Garden Antiques, Cindy-Plum Tree, Dawn-Feathered Nest, Steve-Uncommon Objects, Carol Bolton-Homestead, Rachel Ashwel-Shabby Chic, Mo-Rubbish Two, Judy-JHill Designs, and lets not forget the guys from Leftovers. The list could go on and on, but those are a few off the top of my head. Here are few new assemblages from the shop.

Ice, Ice Baby

We had some snow and freezing rain last night and this morning. I love the way these iciles have formed on my bird houses. I love snow as long as I don't have to get out and drive in it. We haven't had much snow this year, guess we are lucky. It amazes me how peaceful it is when there is huge snow.

The log cabin is a wonderful bird feeder that my dad built for me! Remove the chimney to add bird feed and the birds can land on the porch and eat seeds.

Ashes to Ashes

I have been waiting tables for friend of mine in a fine dinning restaurant for about a month to make ends meet in this slow economy. The building was a historic depot (The Depot was the name) with wonderful tin ceilings, random width wood floors, wavy glass windows, and what ever else makes old buildings charming. At 4:20 am yesterday morning it caught fire and was destroyed. The gentleman I worked for Tony York had an apartment upstairs and that's where the fire started. Fire Marshall thinks a fan caused the fire. So not only did my friend loose his business, he lost his home! He has 3rd degree burns on his head, face, arms and hands. He is going recover but it will be a long and painful road for him to travel. This restaurant was a dream come true for Tony. He put his heart and soul into everything he did there. He worked along side all his employees doing any job that needed to be done. Please pray for him that God will help him heal and give him the determination to rebuild his life, his home and his business. My heart goes out to you Tony!

New Displays At Home

This is one of Criag's lamps that he assembles from old lamp parts and pieces. I love finials in different shapes and sizes, and books are one of my favorite ways to get height when doing a display.

Small angel lamp with brown and white transferware, white berries from my good friend Theresa Cano and a cool dish scrubber hanging over the side of the dish.

I have statues all over my house, naked men and women! None of the clocks I have work, I just love the way they look. A small crazed piece of ironstone with flowers and empty frame and more books complete the look.

Loving cups or Trophies are great when they grouped together. I don't have very many, the small silver one is a gift from my good friend Theresa Cano! So glad I have friends like her! Go check out her blog Garden Antiques, you won't be sorry!

Hope you enjoy looking at pics from my house! I have many more and I love sharing them with other people.

Christmas is almost here!

I can't believe there is only 15 days until Christmas and I haven't done any shopping yet! I used to have all my shopping done months before December even arrived. But the older I get the slower I get! Oh and the fact that I can't remember anything any more.

I thought I would show a few more pics of the shop! Here is a stove with some Christmas cheer!

I love this violin thats been wired into the frame. I like to layer empty frames and objects.
This is the inside of a cupboard with some of my favorite things. i.e. doll heads and doll legs in moss!

This is another corner of the shop. The shop is so cute and charming. It's by far the best place I've ever had to display my junk!

In case I get to busy everyone have a Very Merry Christmas
and A Happy New Year!

More Pics

Here's a couple more pics. I had to call my good friend Theresa at Garden Antiques cause I couldn't figure out how to move my pictures around when I'm editing my blog! Thank goodness she knows more about this blog thing than I do. Thanks Theresa!

Another load

Craig and I took more inventory to the shop today. I can't wait to get to filled to the brim! Each new thing we add makes the shop look better. We are having a Christmas open house this Saturday. I'm not a huge fan of Christmas decorating, and I hate getting left with inventory that doesn't sell. This plant stand with large ornaments is my answer so a Christmas tree! It has snowflake garland and an angel on top. The great bicycle in the window is already sold. I think I'm going to replace it with a silver tree and some thing else wierd, not sure what that is going to be yet.

Thank You Computer

It worked again!! It makes me feel bad to know that there is a tiny machine that is smarter than me!! Woman like to know that they can do anything without the help of others, but in this case that wasn't true. I don't have any patients, if I can't get something to work in one or two tries I'm done! I guess one reason that is true, because I always have something else waiting for my attention, kids, dishes, house work, book work, furniture (scrub, glue, screw, paint, cut off rot, price and what ever else one has to do before selling a piece of furniture). What I'm saying is I don't have time to be patient! I need to learn to slow down. Again I am so excited about finally being able to blog, hope you guys visit me often!
