My Birthday!

Tomorrow Feb. 28 is my Birthday, wheeeeeee.........! The big 47! Just think, in three years I will be half of one hundred! That really sounds old! I don't feel 47, and I have no intention of slowing down any time soon! Believe me, I can tell a huge difference in what my body wants me to do and what my mind thinks I can do. As long as the Good Lord lets me keep my mind I will never give into old age!
Most of the time my husband is not much on gifting, but this year he has out done himself. I ask for a new drill, because mine smokes when I use it. I got that about 2 weeks ago. When he gets me something, he's like a kid that's so excited he can't wait until my Birthday to give it to me. That's OK, I'm just glad to get it! Today when he came home from work, he opted for a CD (Spring Time in Paris) instead of a Birthday Card! That's OK with me also, I love French music and I think cards are way over priced. So I'd say he did good this year, he gets an A+ for effort.
My Birthday dinner request is to have Ruben Sandwiches at my daughters house, she is going to Culinary Arts School to be a Chef and is very good at that! She makes the best Ruben I have ever put in my mouth. Because I love them so much my oldest daughter is getting me a panini maker, can't wait!
I am looking forward to celebrating my Birthday tomorrow!

New Assemblage

My favorite thing in the whole world ASSEMBLAGE! If I could not create displays and rearrange things, I think I would swivel up and lose my mind. Being creative is what keeps me sain!! I can have the worst day, but let me take a pile of junk and make it look pretty and I'm good to go! Assemblage is like therapy to me. I guess being creative is a gift, but it comes so natural for me. And I love looking at other peoples displays, it makes my heart beat real fast and I get so excited! In the past few years I have met some very talented people, Peg-French Vanilla, Theresa-Garden Antiques, Cindy-Plum Tree, Dawn-Feathered Nest, Steve-Uncommon Objects, Carol Bolton-Homestead, Rachel Ashwel-Shabby Chic, Mo-Rubbish Two, Judy-JHill Designs, and lets not forget the guys from Leftovers. The list could go on and on, but those are a few off the top of my head. Here are few new assemblages from the shop.

Ice, Ice Baby

We had some snow and freezing rain last night and this morning. I love the way these iciles have formed on my bird houses. I love snow as long as I don't have to get out and drive in it. We haven't had much snow this year, guess we are lucky. It amazes me how peaceful it is when there is huge snow.

The log cabin is a wonderful bird feeder that my dad built for me! Remove the chimney to add bird feed and the birds can land on the porch and eat seeds.
