Iowa Treasures

First of all Sharon and I shopped till I dropped! I had to beg her to take me home on Friday night after we went to Sisters Christmas open house! We had shopped all day long and I was so exhausted I couldn't go another step! But Saturday morning I was ready, willing and able to start all over again, so off we went!

The only things I bought in Iowa were smalls, and I got tons of Ironstone. (One of my all time favorites!) I even bought some brown and white ironstone, can you believe that! I sold every piece of brown and white I took to the last Marburger Farms show. Sorry there's not more to show, but I was afraid to spend much money with the economy like it is! Oh, yes and Christmas is right around the corner!

I think I hit the jackpot on pitchers!

Old crusty pearls.

Thought this glove form was cool.

Can never get enough old photos.

Just had to have these black door knobs.

Sweet Gift

Craig was painting a skid loader yesterday and came across this sweet bird nest tucked into a corner of the cab. He knows I love bird nest, so he loving put it in a plastic bag so he wouldn't lose the eggs. When I got home from work he said I found you something today, then presented me with the nest! I loved it!

The little eggs are so fragile one of them fell to pieces in my fingers.

For many years my children have always gifted me with bird nest and feathers. I'm not even sure how many I have. Any time one of them found a nest or a feather they would run in the house full of excitement and out of breath. I can see the smiles on their little face, outstretched arm with a delicate nest cradle in their hand. All 3 of them knew I loved nest and feathers and it cost nothing to make mommy very happy! Oh, those were the days! My sweet babies are all grown up now, but I still have my nest and feathers to remember those special moments in time.
I have a whole cupboard full of these gifts. I love wasp nest and dried up bugs also!
Sorry, you can see me in the mirror!

My son probably gifted me with the most nest and feathers.

There are at least 20 nest in this bowl,
one of the nest is connected to a stick.

Sunday Stash

Sunday Stash has me seeing RED? I know me buying something with red in it! Actually this all came from one yard sale, can you believe that. A friend of mine died a year ago and her house was all primitive, her husband had a yard sale so I scored. I don't really like these kind of things but they were to cute to pass up. I think from now on I will have a Sunday Stash every week and I will start selling from it, so if you see something you are interested in just e-mail me. I don't have a pay-pal account set up yet, but I will see what I can do. As a matter of fact I don't know the first thing about getting it set up, but I am going to try.

Love this letter to Santa! The frame is cute also.

And this doll holding a cat! Cuuuttttteeeee!!!

The large crow is foam and the small one is fabric.

Cute little purse has a mirror inside.

Frames and ledgers, who can resist these?
A smaller letter to Santa.

Oh No!

If you left me a comment today (Saturday), please leave it again! I accidentally rejected the comments! Not sure what was going through my mind, but I didn't mean to do it and I couldn't figure out how to undo it!! Sorry!

Can you see it?

I finished the painting last night Wheeee!!! The color is sparkling sage. The first coat was awful, it was real mottled and gray looking, I hated it! But the second coat revealed the true color! It's sorta a gray, green, with a hint of blue, if that makes and sense. I can't wait to get furniture in the room, I think the color will show up even more. It is raining and cloudy here today, so it's really hard to even tell there is color on the wall! BUT THERE IS!!!

Before

Here are some before pictures of my sons room I am working on! White walls! Anyone who knows me, knows I love white, but I think I am getting bored with it. So my daughter and I picked out some paint using fabric as inspiration that I bought from Theresa Cano in Texas. The whole time I am painting, I am saying to myself, I just don't know if I like this color or not! And wouldn't you know it, I have to put on two coats. Never understood how those designers on HGTV never have to use two coats? So I am sitting here waiting for the first coat to dry, so I can finish that room tonight!

I have to work at the Antique Mall all day tomorrow, so no getting anything done that I want to do. Hopefully Sunday I can start putting furniture in the room. (But they are calling for snow here!!@#^&?) And in order to put things in the room, we have to unload the box truck.

Not long now! It won't look like this any more!

About Buttons

What is is about buttons that is so mesmerizing you will set for hours sorting through them. I like to separate the plastic button's from the mother of pearl buttons. All the while every time I touch one I can only imagine what kind of garment these came off of. The really teeny tiny ones make me think of very delicate children's clothes. The ornate ones make me think of some kind of glamours ball gown. I know pretty crazy! I love buttons! Sometimes I replace new buttons on a garment with old ones.

The sorting is all part of the BIG MOVE! It's coming along pretty good. I think I will paint today.

All sorted and ready for some kind of use?

I gotta package!

I gotta a package in the mail Saturday from sweet Laurie of 2chippys. She and I had gone to Hobby Lobby when we were in Atlanta last month and I seen this stamp of a bird nest and eggs. Laurie said don't buy that it will be on sale soon! I had already forgot about the stamp, but she didn't! Thanks for remembering me Laurie!! For those who don't know she is the Queen of finding stuff on SALE!

We don't even have a Hobby Lobby, imagine that! PoDunk USA!

I'm sure Laurie will be receiving a package from me real soon!!

Sunday Stash!

Craig and I decided to take the day off and go shopping! We only went to one store, but I hit the jackpot! One problem with the things I bought, I LOVE IT ALL! As time goes by it seems to get harder and harder for me to sell things. But my house is full and I have a rule if I bring something in something has to go out! That works MOST of the time! The paper dress form I bought a couple of days ago, but I needed a back drop.

The white hat is so delicate.

Oooo, ironstone!

Love this dog with child!
Might have to stay at my house!

Not one but two tape tins!

Got three sets of flash cards.

I know for sure I am keeping these silver forks and knives,
they have USN stamped on the back of each piece.

And I think this 2 board top table looks great in my studio!
What do you think?

I told you! I need to buy stuff to sell not to keep!

Move Delayed

My mom decided she wanted to have a yard sale this weekend, so my movin plans were changed! But I will be working on my rooms this week. We did get the computer moved yesterday to its new home in the utility room. And I did get holes in the walls filled, now onto sanding. The prep work really slows you down when painting a room. Hang in there pictures will be coming.

On the move!

Boy are we shaken things up around here! I decided to move my studio into the sun room, turn the studio and my sons room into a small shop! This is no easy task! First of all I have a bizillion things in the studio, (almost have all that moved). Next, my sons room has to been painted, and I have had a hard time deciding what color I am going to paint it! (You'll be surprised!) Hopefully I can get all these jobs done this week and we can unload the truck this weekend! Stay tuned cause I will have before and after pictures coming real soon! I'm so excited! I need a decorating job right about now!
