New Booth

I finally got finished with my booth on Tuesday! It's huge! That means lots of inventory! Hopefully that means lots of sales! I sold a few small things while I was decorating! I still have a few things to add, but it was nearing 5pm and the mall was closing. I almost forgot to take pictures, so if these are a little fuzzy, (some of my pictures didn't turn out at all) it was because I was in a hurry! I love this new space, I think it will draw customers in! Hope so, cause I'd like to keep it for a long time!
I usually don't do fresh paint, but I'm testing the market in Shelbyville to see what they want!

I hope ironstone never goes out of style, cause I love it!

Small vignette!

My booth is in the middle of the mall, means I only have a back wall. I put up a structure in the middle, but the picture didn't turn out. I will show it later.

The mall owners took this pie safe in on consignment, and ask if I would incorporate with my things! I think it looks just like something I would buy!

I worked all day Sat. and Mon. moving my stuff to a larger booth space in Shelbyville Antique Market. Of course I am adding tons of stuff as well. Stay tuned for pictures, hopefully I can get done today, still have several totes to unload!

Spring Brimfield

We had a great turn out in Brimfield, people were out in droves! And we sold a ton of stuff! The crowds were much bigger at Brimfield, than they were in Texas! The weather was cold and we had some rain, but sales were strong!

This show is hard for me cause we only have one day to set up! As opposed to 4 days in Texas! But we are aren't dealing with as much merchandise either!

We met some great bloggers while we were there, hope I can get them all right! First was Tracy of White Home Collections, then I met Keri from Antique Therapy, and finally I met the mother, daughter team from Keeping Good Company. Several more came by when I was busy and I failed to get a card or write their name down! Sorry about the names, but thanks for stopping by to see me! E-mail me and I can add you to the list.

Enjoy all the pics! Click on anyone to enlarge.

Meet Chef Sarah

For several months I have talked about my youngest daughter going to school to be a
Chef!
She is almost finished, about 4 more weeks. She would have already graduated, but she had to go back this semester for one class! :( Anyway, last semester she had to do an internship for a grade. Means she didn't get paid a dime for all her hard work! She did her internship at a
5 star restaurant,
Corbetts!
Now mind you I have never set foot in a 5 star restaurant in my life! She did such a good job for her internship, they gave her a 9 course tasting for two! Oh boy, and I was the lucky one that she took with her! The meal was amazing! I ate things I have never put in my mouth before.

The kitchen there was phenomenal, I have never seen a kitchen in a restaurant that was so clean and organized! Sarah enjoyed her time there and she cried when it was time to leave! They offered her a job, but the restaurant is over an hour drive from where we live, and they keep a lot of late nights (2am before she arrived home many times) and that doesn't work when you are a single parent with an 8 yr old!

This was our menu for the night.
At the top in red letters reads:
Congratulations Sarah Trulock
First Sullivan Intern to receive an A!

By the way Sullivan is where Emeril went to school!

She cried like a baby when she read that!

The dessert got cut off the scan!
Black Forrest Cake
Chocolate Genoise, Amarena Cherry Ganache
Cherry Ice Cream and Sweet Creme Fraiche

This is my sweet girl,
she don't even weigh a 100lbs soaking wet!

Sarah and the Executive Chef at Corbetts!
Tony York, her boss now, is in the background.
He owns Tony Yorks on Main in Historic Glendale

You can tell she feels right at home here!

You can see how small Sarah is!
She didn't get if from me! Ha!

Look how clean this place is!

Organized!

I think I would even like to work here!

Sarah is so small, she said she couldn't even reach
these plates on top of the work station!

Sarah and another chef!
So young!

This is Sarah's favorite server!

This picture is not very good, it was pitch black outside!
Needless to say I am very proud of my baby girl! She has done me proud! She had a baby at 16, but she never let that hold her back, she graduated high school, (she is also a hairdresser!). She loves her son and he loves her! They are growing up together (he's 8 now) and she is setting a fine example for him! By the way she borrowed all the money to go to school on her own! Not cheap! $45,000!
Mommy is so proud of you Sarah, sorry I just can't seem to say it enough! And I love you very much, like mommy always said
(you can do anything you set you mind to do!)

Ah! Spring

In spite of the fact we are so worn out with the rain, all the new sucklings are loving it! When I walked the dogs this morning I couldn't help but notice the moisture collected in the tops of these buds! Isn't nature wonderful? Not much is blooming here yet cause it is still cold and we haven't seen much SUN shine! But we are waiting for the sky to open up and let the SUN shine in!

Click on any picture to witness the beauty of nature!

The only blooms in my garden!

Old Brimfield Pics

Sorry kids, no Monday Morning Favorite Feature today! I have been under the weather for almost 2 weeks now and I haven't even felt like searching blog land for a new blog! Now I only have one week to get 3 weeks worth of work done for the Brimfield show!

We have had so much rain here and it continues to rain, their is no way to get outside and work on junk! Forecast rain all week here! Can you believe that! I just hope it doesn't rain in Brimfield next week. Most of those people up there are used to a lot of rain and come out and shop anyway, it just makes for a long week as a dealer.

These are some old photos of the last show we did in Brimfield, hope you enjoy them!
