Got a Birthday Package

My sweet friend Deb of One Vintage Hag sent me a Birthday Package! (Feb. 28th is my Birthday)! Boy it's fun getting goodies in the mail! I love it! She knows I have a massive collection of Butter Pats (not more that Lauri of 2chippys cause she's nuts!) and I started a collection of brown transfer ware. I love the picture she included and the ribbon with musical notes is so cute! Don't know how she did it, but the package even smelled good! A Couple of Reasons

There are a couple of reasons I haven't posted this week! First this is my 98th post and I was planning a 100th post giveaway, but since that Woman in Texas had that Trashy Party, I knew I couldn't compete with that! You know since I'm a good upstanding Christan woman and I was in church the night she had the party!! LOL!! So anyway, I thought I would wait my turn! Although I don't have anything as fun as that planned! Nobody can top Ms. Trash Mouth and I wouldn't even try! Stay tuned for GIVEAWAY information!

Second we have been working like crazy on our Texas load, I'm actually starting to get excited! Oh yeah, and that dreadful thing called shopping!!! A lot of shopping!! Yeah right!!! Dreadful, I love it! So posting has been put on the back burner for all that! But I am back in the game now!

Monday Morning Favorite Feature

I woke up last night and decided that when morning came I would feature someone on my blog that was new to the blogging world. Then I thought I should do this every Monday morning. So as I lay in bed, Monday Morning Favorite Feature was the only thing that came into my mind, so I'm going with it. Everyday I find new blogs that are (as TNT would say) Fab-u-lous! So I thought every Monday morning I will feature someone different! If you would like to be featured leave me a comment and I will come check you out! But remember their are only 4 Mondays in a month. If I could get all my friends to jump on board we could feature lots of new blogs!

I'm Back!!!

Hello to all!! I am so happy to be back on-line! I missed you guys so much! I am here to tell you we had the worst ICE STORM in the history of my adult life. I have never seen so much ICE! We got a ICE STORM on Tuesday night and another one on Wednesday night, then on Thursday we got 2 inches of snow on top of that! We were sorta lucky because we were only with out power for 5 days.

When our power came back on Saturday night I was jumping up and down screaming in the kitchen, Craig came running in the kitchen with a wrench in his hand ready to hit something, he thought there was an animal in the house, or the house was on fire the way I was screaming!! He stood in one spot for a few minutes holding his heart cause he said I nearly scared him to death!!

The people at the end of our road just got their power back on today, 10 days without electric! Power company says counties surrounding us will be without power for another 2 weeks. We have never experienced power outages like this before.

The first 5 pics are of day ONE, the rest are of day number TWO! Every single tree in our yard suffered some kind of damage, it was unbelievable! I know people up North have much worse weather, but this is unusual for Kentucky!

I have so much catching up to do in bloggville, I don't know where to start! Thanks for all the kind words and warm wishes you all sent, I appreciate them all! I can't wait to visit you all on your blogs!

I am sorry to see it go, it is completely split in half.

I couldn't get in my truck for 3 days, it took me an hour with spray deicer and chipping just to get the door open, another half hour with the defrost running to clear the windshield!

Ice Fringe!!

This was a dogwood tree.

Huge limbs broke out of the tops of all the trees.

Ice was at least and inch thick on everything.

Looks like a tornado touched down over the whole state.

More limbs fell as the ice started to melt,

but my camera batteries were dead!

A tree fell on Craig's lawn mower.

I have never seen so many icicles in my life.

Look how long those iciles are!

Thawed out!

After 5 days we finally have electric, but no Internet service. I am using a friends computer at her office to post this. I hope to be back on line soon. Thanks for all the comments on last post sorry it took me so long to post them. Soon Theresa
