Longing to do a show!

Brimfield May 2008

I have cabin fever so bad and would love to go set up at a show! I miss the show biz so much! I guess it's in my blood and I'm not sure how to cure it. We won't be doing another show until the spring show in Texas. Buddy let me tell you, we will be first on board when this economy turns around to start doing shows again!
Although it's the hardest work in the world, it's the best rewarding and fulfilling work I have ever done. You have the to ability to be creative in a big way and make money at the same time? SWEET!

I've always wanted to go to the Brimfield show. The thought of 'doing' shows again exhausts me though.

Theresa, You will be missed at Brimfield! Lots of people are not going back because of the ecomony. I will be scaling back my stuff. The only reason I can go is it's an hour away so it's a commute for me. Have you thought about a space in one of those antique mall type places? They have them up here for about $200 per month. I've thought of that myself but haven't done it. The other thing you might consider is etsy. It's a site where you can buy handmade or vintage stuff. You would be perfect for the vintage. It's free to join and 20 cents to list an item. If you sell something it's 3.5%. sold some stuff at Christmas. How 'bout those dolls, do you still have them or did they sell? jackie

TOT-You are crazy! The shows are hard, hot, dirty and a lot of work. Oh, I forgot. I love them too. I guess that makes me crazy too. It's the only way I know to really see any money in this business.(Hopefully, since so much is tied up in a show). But the best part is getting to see friends from other states. Tn'T

I'd sworn off shows for a few years- I just hated the packing and the hauling. I did one before Christmas and remember how much fun they can be, so I've got another planned for this weekend. Just hope I'm not loading and unloading in 10 degree weather!

Theresa, I'd love to do a show, I have only done flea markets. After going to a few shows, it's a little intimidating!! I've heard Brimfield is awesome. I'm going to come visit you in Texas this spring ....can't wait!

We know what you mean about "the longing." Fortunately we have a show we are doing this weekend that is not too far from home. Wish us luck!

I'm with you there! It's below zero here, the kids have been off school 2 days and will be off again tomorrow- I'm ready for some good junking! And then a show. To see people, be inspired for display ideas and decorating ideas...Great booth at Brimfield. I love that retro clock. I am on a clock kicj at the moment!
