Before
Do you ever have those projects that you buy with good intentions of working on right away, but.....they get pushed to the back of the building? Then 2 years later you come across them and say....oh I forgot I even bought those! We have been trying to clean out our building for about a year now, and we just keep pulling out things that need some TLC.We have been doing a lot of industrial furniture at shows lately, so I thought this metal dresser, desk and side table would be a good addition to our booth in Nashville. Even I was surprised at the results of how the pieces turned out! The first picture shows the dresser and side table. I didn't take a picture of the desk, but it had several coats of paint on it....blue, green, brown, black, red and white! It took several coats of stripper and a lot elbow grease to get these pieces to this point!
Well, my youngest daughter showed up about the time I got the desk finished, dresser was already done and she had a fit over the pieces! She bought the dresser at a discounted price and I told her the desk could be her Christmas, she was elated!
Suddenly it was back to the drawing board to find something to take to the show! We pulled some more things out and got them finished in time to be loaded! Come on out the the Tailgate Show at the Nashville fairgrounds Oct. 30th and 31st and check out the goodies!

Fabulous makeovers!!! I do not know if I would have had the patience or elbow grease to strip off all of that old paint but what a wonderful end result for all of your hard work!!! I just LOVE that gunmetal color!!!
I have so many to do pieces and you sure have given me some inspiration today!! I am in the middle of rearranging my bedroom and this was a nice break....:)))
Oh My!!!!!!!!! They are absolutely beautiful! I would have never thought to strip the paint off of metal furniture! I Love them! Do tell please......Did you put any kind of sealer on them? Great work!

OK... please tell me the color you used. I have been wanting to do something like this for awhile, my daughters room is vintage hollywood. This color has to be the color of her t.v. cabinet. i heard ralph lauren has a great silver/gun metal color... please share with me :)

I can't imagine how much work you and Craig put into those pieces, but wow, the results are magnificent! I'm glad your daughter will have some of those pieces :)
I have to say those pieces look fabulous! I will have to try this someday with all the metal pieces I have stored! You and Craig are some hard working folks! Great stuff as always!
Your daughter is one lucky girl...the pieces turned out amazing!!! Really awesome!
:) T
Lots of hard work there. I don't have that kind of patience. Very interesting pieces. Good luck at the show.
You are certainly the "Queen of Transformations". The project redos are fantastic.
I totally understand the passing of time....in my fifties, a couple of years seems to be equal to the measure of months during my teen years.
Once again, a perfect job, an amazing transformation! Were they metal or did you paint them silver? I painted a tabletop silver a couple years ago and peeled were scratching their heads...maybe now's the time!
These are super awesome...your daughter is one lucky gal...cause they wouldhave been snapped up at a show, I can tell you that. Now as I head to Kane this weekend, I'll be looking for metal to strip, like I nee dmore projects! I was following along at the beginning, thinking- hey, yeah- I have projects to pull out too,,,now MORE ideas...I see how this happens. But I can't STOP it....:)
Beautiful job! They look great! Hope you do great in Nashville.
