New Headboard!

This is going to be my new headboard!
Don't you just love this huge door?

It's 7ft. tall and 5ft wide, and it's so heavy we couldn't hardly get it up the steps to come in the house! I believe there were some ugly words coming out of my mouth, but I couldn't help it!!

With this new headboard comes a longing to change everything in the room! Well not the big stuff, just the small stuff! So I took everything down so I can clear my head of that vision, and I will take a few days to think about what I want to do from here!

Matter of fact, I am going through my whole house and picking through the small stuff and I'm gonna sell most of it! I feel the need for less! You know what they say less is more!! I gonna try it out and see how I like it!

Great find! Your bed will be the show piece of the room with that wonderful headboard.
I know what you mean about less is more. We will be moving soon and I am looking to decorate the new home with the same idea. Really, if you think about it. We just need the essentials and nothing more.
Great blog. I will be stopping by to see your progress on your room.

Hi Teresa,
I have been perusing your blog and realized that I had read about your home in a country living magazine.
Just wanted to tell you I absolutely love your home. You have just done a wonderful job decorating it. I was floored when I read it was a double wide. I had to read the article and look at the pics all over again.

Congrats on your weight loss.. as well as to Craig..Your headboard is going to be gorgeous.. I so want to go with an all white and off white room..I get the whim often..then I look around and I realize I'm an earthy kind of gal.. so I sit in amazement and drool over everyone elses....still keep the whim in the back of my mind...lol..I'm thinking maybe the office could use a facelift..hmmmm

Theresa,

That door is phenomenal! Do you know the history of it? I can't imagine how it was used before. I have a wonderful mantle in my shop that (secretly) I don't care if it sells because someday I want to use it as a headboard.

I can't wait to see what it looks like when you are all done with your bedroom.

Thanks for sharing the great photo,

What a wonderful set of doors and corbels for the use of a headboard. I also back in the
9o's did exactly that in one of my model homes I was designing... It went off with a hit to all that adored it. Everyone was on the hunt for old massive fire place mantles in place of a traditional headboard. Your room will be an inspiration to all to behold.
